Resolved Question: How do I get a plumbing contractor to do the right thing?

A plumbing coontractor installed my trench drain in my driveway incorrectly leaving large spaces between the grates because the fittings were incorrect (backwards). Also, a worker of his had nothing to do but play with a can of spray paint and he sprayed my siding. At the time I was unaware that the drain was installed wrong until a cement contractor told me so. Also, I thought the "spray paint" was a washable spray chalk that can wash off so I thought nothing of it at the time. The work is guaranteed for 1 year and it's within this guarantee. What can I do to get the plumber to correct what they did? How is the best way to approach this? One supervisor came over and said he will correct the problem and that he will take care of the paint on the siding because it was his fault, but I haven't heard anything for a week. What should I do?? more

Resolved Question: Can a paint sealant keep washable paint on a wall?

A friend and I are working on painting a wall mural in the lounge of our dorm floor. We have finished the general painting, and realized that some of the paint we used was washable, and will easily wipe off with a damp cloth. Someone suggested that we use a spray on sealant, and I am wondering if that will solve the problem? The walls do get washed frequently, so we need to make sure that the sealant will make the entire mural waterproof. Any suggestions as to how to fix this are greatly appreciated! more

Resolved Question: Mini-Olympics Birthday Party Ideas?

Next weekend we're having my daughter's 5th birthday party at a local park. We are going to have a mini-Olympics-style party with races and games. The large open grass spaces we'll be spray-painting (with washable paint) the various "fields of play". So far, we're planning relay races like baton passing and spoon w/egg, pillow case races (individually and with 3-legged), musical chairs (with dinner-style place mats instead of chairs) and a distance race around the outside edge of the park. #1. I wonder if you have any additional suggestions for games/races? #2. There is an existing playground and basketball court. How can I incorporate those into the games? #3. Do you have any ideas of how to lay this all out? #4. We're on a tight budget, and so have made "medals" from USA ribbon and red, white and blue circles of cut out of foamy sheets. How can I expand on this concept without going broke? I challenge all of the Yahoo Answers Community to expand upon my plans and answer these questions...Will YOU get chosen as the "Best Answer"? more

Resolved Question: Omg is there a way I can get paint off my leather shoes?

Im so stupid! There leather shoes. They have purple on them, but I painted over them with washable enamel. They looked like they were originally black. But one day I put them in the washer and the paint came off. Today I went to the store and then they didnt have any enamel paint. So stupid me, I go and buy a can of Krylon spray enamel and im so stupid that, it was made tough for rust and stuff. I figures maybe this will work since I have no idea on how to use spray paint. So I get it home and I accidently spray paint on my toungue, and on the sides. Ive tried washing them in really warm water and in bleach, this will be my third time washing. I also dont have any laundry stain remover to try. I dont know what to do! And I cant buy no fancy products to get it off. I have no money and these shoes were expensive! The shoe is Nike Air Force one. They are red and black, yellow swoosh with a purple top around the laces. I dont know what to do! more

Resolved Question: GX3 grafitti/ spray paint?

I was outside my apartment building today and noticed someone spray painted GX3 with a ^ below it on the building. It doesn't really look like grafitti. Does anyone know what this means? I was wondering if maybe it is normal for water/utility workers to spray paint on a brick building (maybe washable paint?) to mark something? I'm hoping it isn't gang-related. It made me kind of nervous because the ^ looked like it was pointing up towards my apartment. Am I freaking out for no reason or should I call the manager/ security guard? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!I have a 2 year old daughter, so any answers would be really appreciated. I live in Indianapolis, if this helps. more
