Resolved Question: Does it concern you these kind of illegals are sneaking into America was deported twice?

Police have arrested a man they believe has been stalking and raping young girls in Chandler for nearly two years. On Saturday officials identified Santana Batiz-Aceves, 39, as the person they believe to be the Chandler Rapist, connecting him to the string of crimes with DNA evidence. Police originally arrested him Friday morning on suspicion of identity theft. Evidence led them to believe he could be a Chandler Rapist suspect. They also said that Aceves, a Mexican national, is in the country illegally and he had been deported twice in California related to drug charges. “We are convinced that this suspect is responsible for the multiple assaults that have been committed in our community,” Chandler Police Chief Sherry Kiyler said during an afternoon press conference. That confidence comes from a flurry of DNA examining done by the Arizona Department of Public safety. Employees working from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning in DPS's crime lab were able to match Santana Batiz-Aceves' DNA to that found at the scene of three of the Chandler attacks. “The remarkable work of men and women you often don't see, those are the folks that work behind the scenes and offer support functions like the crime lab,” said Deputy Director David Felix of DPS. Also laboring through the night were Chandler police detectives attempting to sort out the identities of the suspect while waiting to hear the DNA results, said Sgt. Rick Griner of the Chandler Police Department. Officers in Tempe, Gilbert and Phoenix also chipped. As did the FBI. Kilyler said Aceves is facing 25 felony counts, including kidnapping, child molestation, burglary and sexual abuse with a minor. News of the arrest made it's way through the community. Those who live in the neighborhoods where the rapist struck say the precautionary habits they've developed to protect themselves and their families against him will be hard to break. Tim Medlock lives a few houses down from a 13-year-old girl who was raped last March. After the rapist hit his neighborhood near McQueen and Ray roads, Medlock refused to leave his 12-year-old daughter home alone, even for quick runs to the Safeway across the street. He started driving his daughter to the bus stop every school day and called police anytime he saw a suspicious car parked in the neighborhood. “I'm sensitive to anything now,” Medlock said. “I'll have a better comfort zone if they (police) caught him, but there's a bunch of other sick people out there. I'll still worry.” Authorities said Aceves worked as a heavy equipment operator and lived in the area of the sexual assaults for the last 18 months. http://www.azcentral.com/community/gilbert/articles/0112rapist-ON.html more

Resolved Question: Need help to accept my son's way of life!!?

My son is 22, never finished high school, won't get his GED, has had 2 great jobs as a heavy equipment operator, (very good at it) making really good money but lost both of them due to hanging out with his friends, coming in late to work and refusing drug test on the last one. His BF (23) comes from a wealthy family, married, 1 child and has never worked a day in his life, living off G-mother's millions, uses drugs. My son lives with him and his wife and they don't do a darn thing. I just can't accept the idea that my son won't work, never comes to see us, won't offer to help his father, but will break his neck to help his friend and his friend's father out. I am so hurt and angry at this. His father and I bust our butts working...(me-60 hours week). We've tried to set a good example for him. I just don't understand it. Yes he is his own man but I'm very upset over this. Anyone going through the same thing??We don't give him money, he doesn't have a key to the house, I packed his clothes up in garbage bags and put out on the carport. I just want him to be a responsible adult, work hard. I want to be proud of him sooo bad.!!No I didn't work those long hours when he was younger. I did work full time but I was ALWAYS there for everything he was involved in, never missed a football game, practice, you name it, we were there to support him. I'm sure drugs is the main reason for his actions. I sacrificed alot for him. Maybe that's why it hurts soo much, cause I gave and gave and hoped to mold him in to a respectable young man. He's very courteous to everyone else and people tell us how he's such a nice young man. Talking about the same person here.....(that's what I'm thinking!!) more

Resolved Question: ever thought of joining the military to pay for college?

thats how im doing it. they pay for all of my college plus about $1000 a month on those months when im in school. Ive also been to Panama, Kuwait, Iraq and have experience as a heavy equipment operator because of the miliary. Not to mention the benifits of being a veteran like retirement and a VA home loan. ...thats my sales pitch. if you want to know more then yahoo messenger me at sean_mchugh6 or just post your comments on joining the military to pay for college.thats true 7th but you also have to considor the benifits of being sent away. you see the world, you meet new people, you grow as a person, you get a much better and valuable world view, you learn what luxuries are and are able to recognize them and enjoy them. ya you do get sent away but in the long run that can be a good thing. i know when i look back on my life ill be able to say ive done things. ..and because of the momentum the militay has given me ill be able to keep on doing things probably for the rest of my life. more

He lives in Canada and has no experience in heavy equipment operating. I know he need to get a CDL if he is to work in NY, but not sure about the Canada laws. he doesn't have thousands to spend on going to a school first, besides I've heard that most operators find them a joke and they advise to learn on the job. Does anyone know of any resources where he can find companies that will train him on the job? I really don't know anything about the field at all, but really want to help him out. He wants to make a career out of it, not just a part time job, what would be the best way for him to start?Well he wants to join the canadian military and get trained there, but I don't want him to put his life at risk and commit four years just to learn how to operate heavy equipment. He just wants to join cuz he has no life savings and is worried about retirement stuff. There has to be a better way :( more
